NOTCHESis seeking 2-3 graduate student assistant editors. We especially welcome candidates with strengths in Medieval / Early Modern Europe to apply for one of these positions. The area of specialty is open for the other two positions.

Notches provides a critical space for those within and outside the academy to engage with exciting new work in the field of the history of sexuality. Notches encourages a global focus, not only in terms of the content of posts and location of contributors, but also in the conferences and special events in the history of sexuality that we cover.

Participating in Notches will provide you with an opportunity to gain experience in digital and public history, to develop your professional network, and to introduce your own research to a broader audience through a successful international blog.

Assistant Editors will help with a range of tasks including:

  • Soliciting new contributions
  • Liaising with contributors
  • Researching images and acquisition
  • Managing our social media presence
  • Compiling book lists and ordering book copies for our Author Interviews feature
  • Assisting in the upkeep of the blog
  • Copyediting submissions
