NOTCHES is seeking up to two social media editors to join our team. We envisage that applicants for these roles will currently be undertaking, or will have completed, relevant postgraduate study, but are happy to receive applications from candidates who are outside of academia and from anywhere in the world. We are looking for applicants who can contribute approximately 2-3 hours maximum per week, and who are able to commit to the role for at least one year.
Social media editors work with our existing social media manager and our editorial team to publicise NOTCHES blog posts across platforms. Applicants should have a keen interest in the history of sexuality, and must be familiar with a range of social media platforms. We welcome suggestions for expanding or evolving our social media outreach. For the right candidate, there would also be scope to contribute to NOTCHES as a writer or editor if interested.
Because our team are largely underemployed or precariously employed and NOTCHES runs without any institutional funding all roles are voluntary. We see these roles, however, as offering opportunities to build skills in public and digital history as well as expand professional networks. For this reason we anticipate only a minimal workload.
